Merino Silk 4 Ply is 4/17nm at 425m per 100g and a perfect blend of soft 21 micron merino wool and mulberry silk. We have used 21 micron merino which is not itchy or scratchy next to the skins. The silk gives it a shiny smooth lustre that feels soft and luxurious to work with. With 425m (465 yds) per 100g there is that little bit extra per hank making the yarn go that little bit further.
The merino is mulesing free and comes from South America. The yarn is 100% animal fibre and perfect for dyeing. The yarn is wonderfully bright in colour so can be dye in light or pastel shades. To be successful in creating bright and vibrant colours we recommend using acid or natural dyes.
